Biography
Kitalé Wilson is an award-winning filmmaker, director and writer known for crafting human-centred stories across the documentary, narrative and commercial space.
His work has premiered internationally at the Brooklyn Film Festival, Melbourne Documentary Film Festival and the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival, and has been featured by Directors' Library. His writing has appeared in Sidetracked Magazine, Australian Geographic and Ocean Road.
In 2026, Kitalé won Gold at the Young Director Awards (Cannes) for his short documentary Even in Darkness, which also received the Audience Award for Best Short Documentary and Best Editing at the Brooklyn Film Festival. He was previously nominated for Young Australian Filmmaker of the Year for his debut short film, Exposed.
Kitalé is an alumnus of IDFA Academy, where he developed his debut feature documentary, Project Zero.
